Indian Association Lausanne- activities in 2018
1. IAL participated in various initiatives of Government of India, the main were:
• Holi at residence of Ambassador at Bern
• International Yoga Day 21 June 2018, along with Heartful Meditation at Lausanne
• Quiz on Champaran Satyagrah
• Quiz on Bharat ko Janiye
• Namastey Geneva, along with IAG, initiative of PMI Geneva
• Namastey Switzerland at Bern- 5 days celebration and performances by young talent of Indian diaspora. IAL’s performers were very much appreciated and will be awarded at Holi 2019 by Embassy
• IAL office bearers attended various meetings, seminars, conferences and exhibitions which were organised in Switzerland by Government of India
• We did not receive much interest for Pravasi Bhartiya Divas. We need to spread awareness about it. We have to target some nominations from Swiss Romandie region for Pravasi Bhartiya Awards.
Indian Embassy Bern participated actively in the IAL events and celebrations. IAL’s efforts were recognised and appreciated by Embassy. We were also granted financial fund of INR 2 lacs for promoting various social and cultural activities in Swiss Romandie region.

• IAL Picnic and Sports Day at Vidy
• IAL Cricket Tournament- Winning team & Man of the Match awards
• Independence Day celebration with Yuva at EPFL
• Memorable Melodies & open mic- Bollywood singers and IAL members
• IAL Navratri- Live band singing & playing traditional Garba & Dandiya beats
• IAL Diwali- only Catered event by IAL & Cultural treat with state of art media equipped hall

The launch of new website and keeping the dialogue on with community was run very efficiently and resulted in better visibility of IAL and increased credibility.

• IAL Cricket Tournament- inter Association tournament (Cossonay Cricket Club)
• IAL Badminton Tournament (possibly at Green Club Badminton Courts)
• Independence Day celebration with Yuva at EPFL
• IAL Navratri 28 Sept 2019- Live band singing & playing traditional Garba & Dandiya beats (talks ongoing with IAG, Usha & UK based Band)
• IAL Diwali- 26 Oct (though the hall is booked, we may move to a bigger and better venue)
